$30 Adults, $15 Students/Children The Pacific Edge Film Festival inaugurates its celebration of regional filmmaking May 26-27. Film is an indelible art of the Pacific West, whose multifaceted landscapes have not only served as backdrops for many of the images that define worldwide film culture but also have inspired fabulous visions from Los Angeles to Anchorage to Honolulu. Sponsored by the Pacific Regionl Humanities Center at UC Davis and the Mondavi Center, the two-day Pacific Edge Festival presents a dynamic line-up of innovative independents, rare vintage works, and cutting-edge visions revealing the life and stories unfolding throughout the region. In exploring the imaginative currents of regional film in recent independent works, the festival culminates with a live performance with renowned filmmaker Pierre Hébert and musician Bob Ostertag in their award-winning, avant garde Living Cinema. |
