Educational Programs & Engagement
Through exposure to live performance and lively participation, we seek to ensure that the arts remain an integral part of our community’s rich inheritance. We offer educational programs for grades K-12 that meet California Arts Standards as well as Common Core State Standards.
For UC Davis students, through exposure to the performing arts, we hope to inspire the sensibilities and intellectual curiosity that sustain a fully engaged life.
Arts Education K-12
Mondavi Center Arts Education is committed to providing the best opportunities for students of all ages to experience and appreciate the performing arts.
We have designed culturally intensive educational programs for grades K-12 to meet the California Arts Standards as well as Common Core State Standards, and to open the classroom to the creative and imaginative process. For adults, our goal is to inspire the sensibilities and intellectual curiosity that sustain a fully engaged life. Through exposure to live performance and lively participation, we seek to ensure that the arts remain an integral part of our community’s rich inheritance.
School Matinees
Attending a school matinee at the Mondavi Center might be the first opportunity students have to be part of an audience for live performance. Select performances are supported by free Pre-Matinee Classroom Talks by a Friend of Mondavi Center docent.
Virtual Events for Schools
The Mondavi Center offers free Virtual Events to teachers in our service area. Timed to celebrate Cultural Heritage months, videos are announced throughout the year and teachers can sign up to receive a link to watch with their students.
UC Davis Students & Faculty
The Mondavi Center offers educational and engagement programs for the UC Davis community. Students get special discounts and events, while faculty can get student discounts for their class as part of the Curriculum Connections program.
UC Davis Students
The Mondavi Center offers special discounts and opportunities to encourage UC Davis students to get involved and come see a show. The Mondavi Center Student Lounge holds special UC Davis Student Night events throughout the year.
Curriculum Connections
Each year, UC Davis students attend Mondavi Center presentations through the Curriculum Connections program. Curriculum Connections provides $5 student tickets when a Mondavi Center event is assigned in a UC Davis course.
